Between his upcoming sold-out farewell tour and the recently canceled California auction featuring thousands of his personal items, Michael Jackson has been in the press a lot during these past few months. But perhaps even more visible than his name in headlines is the influence the tragically, disturbingly wacky king of pop has had on style lately. The fashion world's top designers would probably balk at the connection and site headier sources of inspiration instead, but Jackson's touch has popped up in some of the most unexpected sartorial places.

MichaelJacksonjacket.jpgThe trend:
The military jacket
Been there, done that: Celebrities such as Beyoncé Knowles and major fashion editors have been rocking Christophe Decarnin's blinged out version of the military jacket for Balmain like it's the best thing since Christian Louboutin stilettos. But we all know who really owns that look. Jackson wore his beaded, gold plated and sequin encrusted jackets everywhere, from the stage to the White house.

The trend:
Sleepwear as ready-to-wear
Been there, done that:
Silk, luxurious looking pajamas played heavily in Dolce & Gabbana's spring '09 collection. But weren't we all cracking jokes about those paparazzi shots of a pajama clad Jackson showing up to court, nearly two hours late, for his controversial child molestation trial four years ago?

MichaelJacksonshoes.jpgThe trend:
Brogue shoes
Been there, done that:
Repetto is one of many brands that have turned out a stream of sequin-studded brogue flats. They've been all the rage in women's wear land for at least two years now. Jackson used them for Moonwalking back in the day. We call them "of the moment," he would call them old news.
Rodarte.jpgThe trend:
Buckled boots
Been there, done that:
Nicholas Kirkwood's buckled, thigh high creations literally induced goosebumps at the Rodarte spring '09 show. Michael Jackson's versions the American Music Awards back in the day? Not so much. But still, he did it first!

Those Balmain jackets look so much that Michael Jackson's old ones that I'm halfway mad at them. It feels completely unoriginal. Like, I'd wear it if someone gave it to me because it's a hot jacket 1980s, 2008s or not. But if I were a designer I wouldn't try to pass it off as this great thing

"tragically, disturbingly wacky" I'm sorry Kenya Hunt but do you know the man? I didn't think so and apparantly you don't hear the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover" that often do you? So knock it off. "But weren't we all cracking jokes about those paparazzi shots of a pajama clad Jackson showing up to court, nearly two hours late, for his controversial child molestation trial four years ago?" No cus not everybody is heartless and failing to realize had he gone home to change his clothes an arrest warrant would of been handed out and he would have been in jail and not to mention his back was hurting him. You can keep hating on him all you like kenya but as you can see his influence in music and even fashion continues to live on. Rihanna was recently spotted wearing a military jacket aswell.

production cute and simple.much money spent wish can have one.

With the death of Michael Jackson the pop industry has lost its king. Many envied him, perhaps even killed because of greed, but his songs remain in our hearts. Talent, as he was not and will not be. Most of his best songs I downloaded from the site mp3 music .

Kenya, shame on you! MJ was persecuted by a tyrannical media that was hell bent in destroying him and they succeeded. It is a real shame that you would succumb to their lynch mob nonsense. I have only recently taken a closer look at MJ's clothes and I have to say that they rock! Shame on you again!
